| The Westboro Little League follows the official Little League guidelines for placement of players in various Tee-Ball and Baseball Divisions. These guidelines are a result of over 10 years of wisdom and experience acquired by Little League of America, and are for the benefit of all the players. Tee-Ball is for players ages 5 and 6 and is intended to teach the basics of fielding, hitting and base running without the added complication of hitting a pitched ball. Tee-ball was first introduced in Westboro as a way of involving players earlier. The AA Division is for 7 and 8 year olds. This level strives to build confidence in the players by controlling the pitched ball. This is done by the use of coach pitching. The basics of player- pitching are introduced later in the season and if possible, are implemented in game situations. The AAA Division is meant to advance the education process beyond the basics and prepare players for the competitive play of the Majors Division, baseball knowledge of the game, and the finer skills (pitching, catching, stealing, cut-offs, bunting) will be stressed in an educational environment. The AAA Division will be made up of players 9-12 years of age. The only division meant to be competitive in Little League is the Majors Division. This Division is for players ages 10-12 who are judged to be prepared to play at this level by the Majors Division managers. While all other divisions will be equal play for all players, the managers in the Majors Division will have the latitude to assign playing time based on a player's demonstrated knowledge, skill, and desire to play the game. However, there are minimum play-time rules in place. A competitive tournament follows regular season play. |

Junior and Senior Leagues
| Junior League is for boys ages 13 to 14. Senior League is for boys ages 15 to 16. There are minimum must-play rules for all players. There will be approximately 16 games, and then playoffs. Most Junior and Senior League games will be scheduled during the weekends. However, towards the second half of the season there will be some mid-week games. The towns we will be playing in our division during the regular season will be Grafton, Millbury, Auburn, and Leicester. Both Junior and Senior Leagues will be in the playoffs and also sponsor post-season all-star teams. Depending on the number of registrations, and the number of volunteer managers, we may have to restrict the number of players in the Jr. and Sr. Leagues. Please sign up as early as possible, and please consider signing up to manage/coach a team. Westboro will continue to sponsor one Senior Babe Ruth team to compete in the central Mass. Babe Ruth League. This is a very competitive league and plays other towns such as Framingham, Natick, Milford, Bellingham, and others. Tryouts and more information will be announced toward the end of the school season, and the season runs from Junetothe end of July. |

Softball

| Welcome to the Westboro Little League Softball program! First and foremost, the board, coaches, and volunteers want the players and parents to have fun and enjoy the season. Our philosophy is to always remember that softball is a game. While playing the game not only will we have fun, but also learn good sportsmanship, teamwork, and develop different skill sets at different levels, which are listed below. | ||||||||||

Our priorities will include consistent training, coaching, and safety to ensure that all our players have the opportunity to learn the game's fundamental rules and skills in both the spring and summer recreational league. For those wishing to participate in our summer program, there will be two distinctly different levels of play. We will continue to offer a recreational program similar to the spring, and for those more serious-minded there will be ASA traveling tournament teams. The recreational league's highest priority will be to have fun and learn. The ASA tournament teams will have a much more competitive environment requiring a higher level of commitment from both players and parents. Tryouts for the ASA U14 & U12 teams will take place prior to the spring season. We encourage and appreciate any participation that is offered from parents and family. |

Volunteers

| VOLUNTEERS NEEDED - The success and quality of our baseball and softball programs depends on our volunteers. There are many ways you can help out that are not limited to managing or coaching. We need help with the preparation of the fields, equipment management, team photography sessions, the Opening Day Parade, year-end banquets, the Annual Golf Tournament, and running the concession stands. Please contact your league president for more information. |
